Grid computing

Objective:

To present the basic concepts for the installation and operation of Grid services.

General Overview:

The term grid refers to an infrastructure that allows the uses and integration of high performance equipment, networks and database that are property and administered by different institutions.  Since the collaboration between institutions involves an interchange of data or computing time; the objective of grids is to make ease of the integration of computational resources.  Universities, research centers or private companies who collaborate to form a grid for which they could use some type of software to implement this concept.  In this workshop we will implement an experimental grid and put it on service operation for its functionality.
